Procedures (EAP)

Procedure records (EAP) relate to orderable tests, interventions and actions. They can be complex, with wide-ranging effects when added, changed, or deleted. For example, a change to the record associated with orders for something as simple as a microbiology test can impact navigators, order sets, smart sets, order groups, order panels and countless personalizations in active use. Accordingly, while Builders may need to understand how procedure records work, they would not normally be empowered to create or edit such records.

Important considerations for builder awareness, especially how procedure records relate to workflow tools, are highlighted in the Builder handbook.
